    Install Ad-Aware Properly

Ad Aware Professional is a very intuitive program, and with little tweaks you can customize it to fulfill your needs. We recommend this be on your list of purchased spyware removal programs. Make sure you have no applications running in the background other than Internet Explorer so you can access the Internet, if need be.

After downloading Ad Aware simply follow the instructions below to successfully install the application.

Upon locating the file on your computer after downloading it, please double-click it. Ad Aware Professional will begin it's first stage of installation. Click on the “NEXT” button. You are on your way to becoming spyware and advertisement free!

On the next prompt they are asking you review the license agreement and if you agree to it check off the “I accept license agreement”. Once you have read and accepted the license agreement click next. Upon agreeing with Ad Aware's Software License Agreement you are now accepting their "Terms & Conditions".

This prompt is telling you in what program folders Ad Aware files will be stored in. We recommend that you keep this to the default setting and click “NEXT”.

If you have Windows XP or Windows 2000 the following prompt will ask you if you want to restrict Ad Aware only to your account "Windows Account". Use your own discretion, but why not let everyone keep your computer Spyware free using Ad Aware. Select the appropriate box and click “NEXT”.

You are now ready for the installation process to begin. Click on the “NEXT” button at this prompt and the installation process will begin.

While installing Ad Aware, this is what the screen should look like. The time remaining on the bottom of the screen will vary depending on your personal computer.

Once the installation process has finished, the following box will appear on the screen. Please uncheck the "perform a full system now" and the "open the help file now". For the time being we only want to update the program. For further clarification on running Ad Aware Professional please refer to this section. Please click “FINISH” to continue the installation.

Once you click “Finish” it will immediately proceed to update the spyware definitions from Lavasoft's web servers. For further clarification on what what the updating of Ad Aware's definition updates should look like please refer to this section.
