Immunizing the System is basically prepping your system from any further attacks against any known Spyware and bots. To immunize your system please follow these prompts.
On the left hand corner of the Spybot S&D program window you will see the “Immunize” icon. Please click on it. Upon clicking on it a pop up will specify that you have “0 bad products already blocked, 2300 additional protections possible.(This number may vary but the number is not relevant, protecting your computer is!) Please immunize.” Click “OK”. Note that as the immunization database is updated frequently, this number will change.
On the top of the program screen you will see a light green cross and “Immunize” written directly next to it. Click on the “Immunize” button. You will see the progress bar begin to move and it will start and finish immunizing your system.
Now that the immunization has finished towards the bottom of the page you will notice a section that says “Browser Helper to block bad downloads is installed”. You can chose to “Block all bad pages silently”, “Display when blocking”, and “Ask for blocking confirmation”. Please select accordingly, we recommend blocking all silently. If you ever need to download something in particular and cannot you can always come back to this and adjust your selection.
