Google Toolbar Buttons

Google Toolbar provides a variety of buttons that have different functions within. For example, if you click on the "Google" button all the way to the left it will display four options for you to choose from.

  • Google Home Page - Brings you to the default Google homepage you selected when installing the Google Toolbar.
  • Options - Displays the Google Toolbar Options
  • Clear Search History - Clears the Google Search History from the drop down search box
  • Help - Help on using the Google Toolbar

Next to the "G Search" button you will see a down arrow. Clicking this down arrow will display an array of search options.

  • G Search - Google's search engine
  • Current Site - Searches the website you are currently viewing
  • I'm Feeling Lucky - Displays the first website within Google's search engine ranking system
  • Google Images - Searches Google Images for the specified keyword(s)
  • Google Groups - Searches Google Groups for the specified keywords(s)
  • Search News - Searches Google News for the specified keyword(s)
  • Search Froogle - Searches Froogle for the specified Keywords(s)
  • Gmail - Will search your gmail account if you rightfully have one
  • Desktop - Will search your computer is you have Google Desktop Installed

The newspaper icon after "G Search" is just that. Clicking it will search for the specified keywords within the text box. If there are no words entered it will bring you to Google News.

The PageRank display is a display that Google uses for relevancy. The higher the page rank, the higher the number out of 10 it will receive. You can read more about Page Rank Here.

After PageRank you will notice a button that has an "ABC Check" written on it. Clicking directly on this button will check spelling of text you type on any web form in English. Clicking on the down arrow directly next to it will prompt a drop down box where you can choose to "AutoFix" spelling errors and even change the default language.
